The new name.
Truth be told, I wasn’t sure I loved it but as Larry Winget once said during a mindset/speaker training session, “Make the decision then make it the right decision.”
Translation? Once you’ve done all you can to arrive at that come to Jesus moment, aka decision time, you choose something and go with it.
Just as I boldly claimed my decision as “THE RIGHT ONE.” my namer’s remorse kicked in.
Anyone else? Hell, you don’t live this long without having experienced that feeling.
And so it was with this name.
Then I thought of Larry and went about making it the right decision.
I reviewed why it made the list and why other words like “living” or “life” didn’t stick. Just in case, I bought all three domain names. 🤷
Why did the word “lifestyle” beat out the others?
A lifestyle is the way that a person lives their life. It is a combination of their values, beliefs, habits, and choices.
My mission with Rebellious Wellness has always been to present new ideas and information so that women have more choices than those presented in the mainstream media.
And to encourage the kinds of habits that give us an edge when it comes to aging.
Maybe, just maybe, to help one woman see a way past a limiting belief so they can live fully expressed.
Which brings us to the tagline: Life Fully. Age Better.
A rebellious wellness lifestyle is one that encourages full expression as a tool in the healthy aging toolkit.
How?
Here’s one answer which covers my long held belief that living full out is good for our health and healthy aging.
According to the International Council on Active Aging, there are
seven dimensions of wellness: emotional, vocational, physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, and environmental.
Healthy aging is so much more than what we eat and how much we move.
And my podcast, blog posts, and newsy emails will address all of these topics.
My self imposed deadline for the new website is February 28th. We might even make it.
For now, you get a peek at the new look and the new direction.
Hope you’ll come along for the new ride.
Greg
PS Almost forgot to tell you why I’m dropping “over 50.” In terms of marketing, it’s great. Someone sees those words and it’s an instant, “that’s me” or “that’s so not me.”
But it began to feel ageist.
The new name reflects a broader vision—wellness isn’t tied to an age but is about how we choose to live every day. It’s about living fully and aging better, no matter where you are on the journey.
